This article explores the transformation of a Victorian terrace house in north London, showcasing the work of interior designer Evelina Mamedovaite. The project aimed to create a calm, cosy, and timeless space for brand consultant Charlotte Lewis and her family. Evelina's approach focused on establishing a sense of flow, ensuring the space could evolve with the family's needs, and avoiding superfluous elements. The design incorporates soft neutrals, tactile materials, and well-chosen antiques, with attention to hard fittings and finishes. A key element is the use of rich materiality, such as terracotta parquet tiles and a moulded bolection fireplace, creating an architectural base that is strong even without decoration. Evelina's collaboration with Charlotte proved so successful that they now count themselves as close friends, and the house has become a safe haven for the family, offering a relaxing retreat from the bustling city of London.
