The World-Time Watch Just Got a Luxe Makeover
The world of affordable luxury just got more stylish. When it comes to world-time watches, options are scarce, especially under $2,000. But Farer has been a game-changer since 2019, offering a dream-come-true experience for watch enthusiasts.
A Golden Touch: Farer's latest addition to its World Timer collection is a trio of new models, with the highlight being the introduction of gold (PVD) cases. This is a significant upgrade, adding a touch of elegance to an already impressive lineup.
A Unified Design with a Twist
Farer has taken a unique approach by basing all new models on their most popular design, the Roché. But here's the twist: each watch features distinct colorways and lume treatments, ensuring no two watches are identical. This strategy allows for a cohesive collection while offering variety.
Meet the New Trio
The new lineup consists of three models, with two sharing a new dial color and the third featuring an existing dial style. The star of the show is the Thorne, boasting a burgundy dial with a barleycorn guilloché pattern. The rotating inner bezel, in burgundy and white, displays 24 cities, while the world map in the center showcases burgundy oceans and gold-colored continents.
Luminous Elegance: The indices are crafted from Lumicast, a Super-LumiNova-infused ceramic, ensuring optimal visibility. The hands are also lume-filled, creating a stunning contrast against the steel or gold PVD-coated versions.
Gold Standard
The Thorne Gold takes luxury to the next level. Its 38mm stainless steel case is entirely coated in yellow gold PVD, including both crowns, creating a seamless golden aesthetic. Paired with the warm burgundy dial, it's a sight to behold. The microblasted side cutouts on the case add a unique texture, further enhancing its appeal.
Farer also offers the Foxe model with a green dial and mint green accents, now available in gold PVD. This trio forms a cohesive yet diverse collection.
Technical Precision
All three models are powered by the Sellita SW331-2 automatic movement, a modified version of the SW330 GMT. This movement features a rotating 24-hour disc in the center, replacing the traditional GMT hand. The world-time function is easy to use: simply align your current city's time zone on the inner bezel, and you can instantly read the time in 24 cities worldwide.
Affordable Luxury, Now Permanent
Farer's two new gold models and the steel Thorne are permanent additions to their World Timer collection, expanding it to five watches. The steel Thorne is priced at $1,715, while the gold versions command a slight premium at $1,790. With various strap options available, these watches offer exceptional value for world-time enthusiasts.
